FYI - in support of Carol's recruitment and general VA recruitment and as someone very familiar with this specific position in the VA, I would add that this Psychiatry - Integrated MH/PC position is a terrific position in any VA for either an experienced psychiatrist or one just starting a career.  Individuals with interest in PSM, Geriatrics would flourish.  It will also allow for opportunities for career development within both the VA and in integrated care in general for the motivated individual.

Highly recommend active recruitment into these positions at all VAs for academic-oriented psychiatry staff

Dear Colleagues:

VA NY Harbor Healthcare System is recruiting for a full time psychiatrist  to work at our Manhattan campus at 23rd Street and First avenue. The position is in the outpatient department, with time divided between the Primary Care clinic as a member of the co-located, Integrated Behavioral Health team, and the general mental health clinic.  The NY VA is a primary and tertiary care healthcare facility and is affiliated with NYU Langone School of Medicine.  The position also entails opportunities for medical student and resident teaching.  The salary is competitive and offers the opportunity for an NYU academic appointment.  Applicants must be US citizens, BE/BC, and licensure in any state is acceptable.  For further information, please contact Adam Wolkin, M.D., Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health (adam....@va.gov) at VA NY Harbor Healthcare System.

Please feel free to distribute widely.  Thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone next week!
All the best,

Carol
