We've had the printer for about 6 mos and it has worked very well,
until recently it would 1 or no pages, partially feed a new sheet and
stop. The PC displays the I'm experiencing an LSU error. The
directions say to power off the printer for 10+ seconds and retry (this
is not working, no matter how long I wait). The last direction is to
contact a Samsung repair representative.
Any thoughts? I'd love to repair this on my own if at all possible.
Thanks for your time.
The most likely cause is the Laser Scanner Unit (LSU). They cannot
usually be repaired, parts are impossible to find. Unfortunately there
is no real alternative to replacing the LSU, if that does not fix the
problem the next most likely cause is the Main Board. Both are
expensive so you might want to see how the cost of the LSU compares to
a replacement printer. You could google for a Samsung ML-2010 Laser
Scanner Unit to compare prices.
Alternatively get a quote from a repair shop and compare that with
buying the LSU yourself.
