Hello, We have a Brother MFC 7840w, We can send and receive faxes on
paper with no problem. However, I receive faxes in my email with .tif
extensions and don't have any problem opening them. But, when I
receive a fax sent from the Brother 7840w and try to open it using MS
Picture Mgr. or Photo Shop, all that shows up is a small white square
with a red x in the middle. I receive other faxes in my email
with .tif extension and have no problem opening them. Is there a
specific setting on the Brother 7840w to set up the format for sending
faxes? Thanks for your help.

Looks like you might have to upgrade the firmware to the latest
version.Check brother support site.
