Hi Franck,

Python 2.4 is freely available on Python.org. It does not interfere
with the version preinstalled on OS-X 10.5 - even though that is
version 2.5; they are installed in different parts of the file system.
Please test this, before we do any other further actions -- as you
know there were reports on the Priithon mailing list, that this would
be a feasible solution to your problem.

Lin and I have discussed possible options. But apparently Macintosh is
always a "moving target".

Regards,
Sebastian

Franck,
I did not mean that you would have to build python -- of course !!
use this:
http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.4.4/python-2.4.4-macosx2006-10-18.dmg
it is mentioned here:
http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.4.4/

Hi Franck,

You have to get
http://msg.ucsf.edu/sedat//Priithon/PrMacNInt_20071203.tbz

This is the version for Py 2.4, Intel Mac (using the (then) new 'N'
(i.e. numpy) module (not the prior numarray from STScI)

(the 25 in the priithon name of the other package means: "this is the
version for Python 2.5")
