Hi Sam,
I'm sorry for the delay -- I was (completely) out the last week.

I vaguely remember something about this issue.
It's about the "memory layout" used for unicode strings --- something
we don't really need, but if it's inconsistent Python complains.

Did you compile your python by yourself ?

What is the "default" version of python on your RedHat system: 2.3 ,
2.4 or 2.5 ?


Also:
Please note, that AIDA has not been tested with python 2.5 -- we are
currently fixing another problem we found with 2.5 on Intel Mac.
So, it might be saver to go with python 2.4.
