Faisalabad Press Club in the hand of Newspaper Owners and GOVT.
Press Club is always a great place for journalists any where in the world. Usually Press Club use for the journalists and it remain in the hands of journalists.
Unfortunately Faisalabad Press Club is not in the hands of journalists from some months. A group with the support of newspaper owners rushed towards press club. Now the days newspaper’s owner are the management of press club. All the functions of press club are in the hands of owners and journalists can’t enter in the press club. Local administration and PML-N (governmental political party) leadership is also with the newspaper owner to control the journalists community.
How a strange situation in Faisalabad for Journalists, every one can easily understand.

Dear Journalists
The Faisalabad Press Club can trace its origins back to 1962; a list of past officers is available on this site. It’s registered with joint stock companies in 1967. Over the years the Faisalabad Press Club has been situated in Zail Ghar Kachary Bazar of Faisalabad, all associated with the press, and we moved into our new premises in the Allama Iqbal Library ( old name Karvention Library), in the October 7th of 1968. Since then we have gone from strength to strength.
A founder member of the Faisalabad Press Clubs played a leading role in the launch of the International Association of Press Clubs and Foreign Correspondents’ Centers.
Social functions, lectures, exhibitions and outings are organized throughout the year. Highlights amongst these are the Eid lunch (held recently at the Press Club), regular monthly meeting evenings at Press Club.
Membership is broad-based. We have members from practically all local print and broadcast media as well as a growing number of foreign journalists based in Faisalabad.
There are various levels of membership and amongst our corporate members are such household names. Individual members come from a wide spectrum of the media including national and regional journalists, newspaper and magazine editors, broadcasters, cartoonists, photographers, PR consultants, cultural attaches of foreign embassies, press historians and academics, syndication agencies, and many others – and retired and student members are also welcome.
The club organizes a variety of functions throughout the year, and members are kept informed of activities through circulars, e-mails.
