Shameful Act of lana Dayan Israeli so called journalist

lana Dayan, 47, a Jewish journalist in her recent interview to
Israeli newspaper Haaretz disclosed that she filmed Osama Bin Laden’s
compound for a TV channel from inside, “dodging the security
organizations in Pakistan”.
During her sojourn she also claimed to have cleverly benefited from
the most common weakness of Pakistanis- the beauty and money, for
making her task easy.

Ms Dayan conceded that Israelis are expert at using fake foreign
passports for visiting Muslim countries having no diplomatic ties with
Israel, and she visited Pakistan and the garrisoned Abbottabad city on
fake travel documents, pretending to be a Spanish Argentinean law
expert.

Some reports, yet to be denied or confirmed, also accused her of being
an undercover agent of Mossad.

I don’t know how common it is for “spies” to pretend as journalist,
and I wish
what Ilana did is exception not the rule to be followed in future.

But her visiting Pakistan disguising as a legal practitioner has, I am
sure, aroused ire of the journalists from across the globe especially
Pakistan. Because such adventurism has exposed the genuine media
persons especially those of locals offering their services to
international media organizations, to umpteen difficulties. They would
be now certainly facing undue questioning, frisking and harassing by
spy agencies nevertheless how noble cause they are working with.

It also developed a trust deficit between law enforcing and journalist
community, thus endangering the safety of all those media men busy in
covering inter and intra state conflicts or war against terror.

The local journalists however refused to agree with the contents of Ms
Dayan’s interview calling it an undisciplined adventurism devoid of
truth and objectivity.

They believe that what she did “impersonating” as legal expert, has
damaging effects on the profession of investigative reporting as
applying surreptitious methods for gathering information contravenes
the ethics of journalism even though she is a journalist.

Dear all,

Ilana Dayan's visit to Pakistan was on fake documents, fake passport and fake nationality. I say wow, that she was able to pass through the visa process through the embassy. She was also able to walk away after being questioned by authorities in Abbottabad. Everyone is bragging about her visit and her interviews, how about asking the embassy who gave her the visa to come to Pakistan on fake documents?? 

How about sending her legal notices through the embassy about her lies in her articles and interviews, where she has clearly and repeatedly said that she visited the compound of Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad at a time when that so called compound has already been demolished? The time when this lady went there, OBL compound was not there, so I think she went to a guest house and thought that its where Osama Bin Laden lived.

As her documents and visa was fake, her visit to Pakistan was completely illegal and that should be taken forward by the Pakistani Foreign Office.

I cannot understand what is shameful about a journalist visiting Pakistan, Israeli, Palestinian, Indian or Chechen. Is it the travel document? Then what about more than a million Afghans and Bangla Deshis, Biharis and Egyptians who are still there since came the "Jihad" of late 90's, and also those who still cross borders in Pakistan from Iran, Afghanistan and India through porous borders, carry the banner of Islam and have put Pakistan on fire in its name.

There have been and still are Jews visiting Pakistan on regular documents issued in their names or others. There are several you will find in the so-called fortresses

called the Diplomatic Enclaves of Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi or in outfits of the multi-nationals. They all do their jobs then why object to journalists. There are Muslims, Pakistanis as well as from Middle Eastern countries who visit Israel or who yearn to do so in the name of pilgrimage to the "First Ka'aba" at Al-Quddus. We should learn to think and talk rationally and not become a laughing stock for educated people.

Muslims are not at war with Jews or Christians and neither Pakistan has ever been at war with Israel. Palestinians are about to conclude their peace deal with Israel. Major things have been resolved among them except two issues -- fate of Jerusalem & matter of right of return. Yes Turkey, Egypt & some other Muslim Countries have diplomatic ties with Israel. Sahir is just right when he says Muslim of Middle East do visit Israel. In fact many Pakistani businessmen & officials have also done that on one pretext or the other. How many Jewish US or British citizens come & stay here. If Christian Journalists are welcome, Why not the Jewish? Why should Pakistan be labelled as Religiously biased a country?  Universal Religious Tolerance must prevail.
