One of my friend Abdullah Khan Betini working in INP news agency came
under attack when unknown motorcycle riders started indiscriminate
firing near Gulzar Hostel in Islamabad few days back, the militants
managed to escape after committing crime, resultantly, Abdul Khan
received three bullets in his leg, and was shifted to holy family
hospital, According to Mr. Abdullah, some unknown militants had warned
him eight months ago but at this time Abdullah came under target. PFUJ
& journalist community is advised to take serious notice of the
incident and condemn it. the injured Abdullah can be reached at
03227476774.

Its shocking,,, I saw a similar incident happened at the same venue yesterday (Monday) night when some people were gathered around a PCO near Gulzar Hotel, Saidpur road, Rawalpindi. According to eye witnesses some armed persons entered the PCO and looted the owners on gun-point and fled in their corrola car. They further said that the armed persons also opened fire at one of the shopkeeper, who luckily survived.

A very serious question arises on the credibility of the Punjab Police....that how armed persons are roaming on the busiest road and they fled after looting the shopkeeper?

    Hello,
Yes, we the Tribal Union of Journalists Central president Safdar Dawar, Snr President WaheedUllah Afridi(self) and Vice President AnwarUllah Khan also met the injured journalist. We asked him about the situation. it is very tragic that Pakistan is still the world's most dangerous country for free journalism.
We the central cabinet discussed Mr. Nangyal incident with interior minister Rahman Malik. As we had a meeting cum lunch at his house. He assured that the govt will investigate the incident and will provide safety to the journalist.
But still we are worried about Nangyal Mehsud's safety. We the TUJ members through FATA are strongly condemning the incident and demanding for the arrest of the involved group or persons.
The Tribal Union Of Journalists will keep struggling for the safe and impartial journalism throughout Pakistan.

With the passage of time I have been in contact with my injured
friend,
According to Mr. Abdullah Betini nangyal just tribal journalists are
in contacts with him and concern about the matter but unfortunately
Islamabad based journalists including concern news agency couldn't
maintain any contact with our injured friend for which he is serving,
in fact Mr. Nagyal was also working for Afghanistan's based news
agency and so far concern news agency has made several contacts with
him even from United States. our journalist friends are just reading
this news and enjoying and even don't bother raising their voice
against injustices, lawlessness and criminal activities at the peak in
Punjab.
