Executive Director, Center for Collective Intelligence – MIT Sloan School of Management, To assume responsibility for development and management of interdisciplinary, cross-departmental research program that involves twenty-plus faculty, staff, and students. Work with CCI director and faculty steering committee to develop the center’s future strategy; recruit new sponsors and manage relationships with existing sponsors (including corporations, government agencies, and foundations); prepare proposals, coordinate contract negotiations between prospective sponsors and MIT’s Office of Sponsored Programs; oversee financial planning, management, and invoicing; manage center’s physical space; work with center staff to plan sponsor events, coordinate speaker series, and oversee maintenance of Web site; work with director and senior researchers to recruit new research and administrative staff; play an active role in managing and contributing to selected research projects.
Requirements: Graduate degree (master’s or doctorate) in management, social sciences, or computer science highly desirable; ten years’ experience in academic research and fundraising, preferably with significant exposure to corporate funders; first rate organizational and strategic planning skills; excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with others. MIT experience and prior exposure to technology industry preferred.
