As I sat down this morning with a hot cup of coffee and worked on the devotional for the “White Elephant” Christmas party for the youth group, I realized that the typically busy ministry month of December was already drawing to a close. One last big weekend and things will slow way down. But as we head into the final weekend a couple prayer requests and updates…
Pray for seeds sown. We have given away hundreds of “page a day” Scripture calendars and put hundreds more Gospel tracts in mailboxes in several small villages. Pray that this Gospel seed would find prepared hearts and bear fruit.
Pray for seeds yet to be sown. A Swiss missionary to Italy will be here Friday and Saturday and we will distribute still more Scripture calendars and literature. Pray that God would direct thirsty souls to cross our path as we distribute these.
Pray for remaining Christmas opportunities. We will be giving plates of cookies and Scripture calendars to friends in the coming days. Pray that this testimony in word and deed would prove effective.
Pray for the “White Elephant” Christmas party for the youth. This is one of our biggest (and funnest) outreach events of the year as we enjoy good food, good fellowship and a white elephant gift exchange. Pray for a good turnout (especially of guests) and that the devotional moment (on exchanging “gifts” II Cor. 5:21) would be empowered by God to touch hearts.
And finally continue to pray for the young man I mentioned in earlier emails that is struggling in his walk with the Lord. Pray that we would have wisdom in guiding him back to a healthy spiritual walk.
Thanks so much for your continued prayers and support for the work here. You are a blessing from the Lord!
