Hi All,
Last weekend was full of fun and joy.

Below are the activities performed by different volunteers, last
weekend.

Saturday: Sept 05, 2009
[LEVEL 1]
• [Ankit]:
[Supriya]: I taught her to write A-D in capitals. As she was able to
write A and B letter so, I taught her to write letters C-D.

[LEVEL 2]
• [Ashwini]:
[Mangesh and Sudhir]: I revised 3 letter words with them. We covered
7-8 words each for all the vowels. I made Sudhir solve multiplication
problem [3 digit numbers X 3 digit numbers.]. Mangesh practiced
subtraction problems. He didn’t know how to solve ‘borrowing’
subtraction problems; I taught him those with simple 2 digit numbers
and made him practice with few questions.
• [Aparna]:
[Nikita Thosar, Nikita Kamble (L3) and Muskaan]: I taught Nikita
Thosar, Nikita Kamble and Muskaan. First, I did a revision of sounds
followed by a dictation test. I asked them to write the spellings of
days of week which we did in the previous week. Later on, I gave them
Home work to learn the spellings of “Months of year”.

[LEVEL 3]
• [Dev]:
[Ganesh and Azhar]: We learnt about alphabetic order, i.e. how we can
arrange given set of words in alphabetic order, e.g. those starting
with ‘a’ first and then those starting with ‘b’ and so on. Also
understood where this is used in real life (in telephone directory).
Also learnt about vowels, consonants.

[LEVEL 4]
• [Chacika]:
[Kajal, Pooja, Deeksha, Aishwarya and Shweta]: I took a session on
Daily activities. First of all, I made them learn the meaning of
Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and fortnightly. Then I made them to
write one activity they do each for daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and
fortnightly. Later, I made them to write a paragraph in English on all
the activities they do on a daily basis.
• [Kranti]:
[Rahil, Atul and Rahul]: I asked the kids to make a list of
Vegetables, Fruits and Animals. They were confused with the spellings
of few things, so I gave them the correct spellings. At the end, I
took a test to ascertain whether they had memorized all the spellings
and meanings.

Sunday: Sept 06, 2009

• [Ashwini]:
[Mangesh Chorge and Muskaan]: I revised with them 3 letter words for

vowels, and consonants. Also, learnt about singular, plural,
masculine, feminine forms of word.
