Last weekend was full of fun and joy.
Below are the activities performed by different volunteers, last
weekend.
Saturday: Sept 26, 2009
[LEVEL 1]
• [Dev]:
[Sonali, Mayuri]: We did some puzzles having ABCD, 1234 sequencing and
did some coloring.
[LEVEL 2]
• [Nibhatish]:
[Mangesh Chorge]: I taught him English. We revised pronunciations of
a,e,I and o. Then I asked him to guess starting alphabet for words
from the book. He has started learning English in school also so he is
learning quickly [Deeksha & Pooja]: I taught them opposites and made
them learn the meanings as well.
[LEVEL 3]
• [Kranti]:
[Ganesh]: Ganesh read out 2 stories from the story book. I told him
the meaning of the difficult words and checked his pronunciation.
Sunday: Sept 27, 2009
[LEVEL 1]
• [Dev]:
[Sonali]: Wrote few sentences. I tried to encourage Sonali to speak
out those sentences after me.
[Mangesh Chorge]: I gave Mangesh few two digit multiplication
problems; He did few mistakes which I corrected by explaining him the
concept.
• [Nibhatish]:
[Shraddha]: I taught her English. We revised all small letters a-z.
She knows all those letters but gets confused sometimes.
[LEVEL 2]
• [Nibhatish]:
[Sudheer]: I had taught him simple division 2-3 weeks back. So I gave
him 2-3 problems but he was not able to solve those correctly. I
helped him in solving one then he was able to solve other problems.
[LEVEL 3]
• [Ankita]:
[Sangeeta/Sumitra/Nikita/Madhuri]: I asked them to think of and write
the Modes of Transport. They wrote about 15-20 names but didn’t know
the spellings of most of them, so I asked them to write as per the
sounds and then corrected their mistakes.
[LEVEL 4]
• [Ankit]:
[Shubham, Kajal]: I taught trigonometry to the kids and started by
asking them what is a circle. Then I explained what is radius, how the
diameter is related to radius, area, circumference. I gave few
problems as to find the area, circumference etc of circles with diff
radius. Kajal and Shubham were able to solve it properly. Later Kranti
took over the kids.
• [Kranti]:
[Rahil]: Rahil read out a couple of experiments from his science
textbook. (pertaining to a mirror). I explained the experiments to him
and told him to perform the experiments at home and tell me the
results.
