Update & questions:

1. The android app is nearing completion.

2. I haven't heard from Shefaly on the icons. I am inclined to crowd
source them, possibly using jademagnet. Any other views/options ? I
also feel the icon on portal doesn't reflect "cut" of power.

3. Manish, do you have download count of the J2ME & Nokia apps ? Ajay,
are we actively promoting the apps & SMS ?

4. I think we should start on visualization of the collected data. Do
we have volunteers for that? Is this google group membership is the
volunteer count ?

At the moment I have more questions than solutions. Have been on
periphery. But should be able to put more time this month.

Shefaly, is away and occupied with work.

No. I am waiting for myself to get some free time and launch the new design and SMS along with it.

There might be a change in the SMS number so. Nothing is public yet.

I will put an apps section or page that links to apps that are being made for powercuts.in

For common branding purpose, please do include the URL of the project http://powercuts.in

at the splash screen/about page of your apps.

So far yes. Data is available in XML/KML format on the site. I made a list of what kind of reports that we should publish, if you have more ideas let me know. http://wiki.ictd.asia/PowerCutsIN_Data_Reports_and_Analysis

I haven't borrowed from Ushahidi Android client. There is nothing common except REST API URLs.

There is no fun in reinventing the wheel, so borrowed the wheels and made the body :-)

Sure. However I feel you should re-engage the designer to have the "cut" aspect in power cut logo. In any case, all apps would have same logo & description of the effort, if not the same looks and feature that I am wishing for.

It would have powercuts.in on dashboard instead of Ushahidi. I'll have an about page on dev/support.
