hey all,
what level of disability are most of you experiencing, and do you see a gradual decrease in ability, even when trying to "take it easy"?  I find that my biggest difficulty is the fatigue and it's attendent brain-fog.  i'm going to be teaching a college course in the spring and am a little apprehensive of facing it while dealing with that fatigue.  any suggestions from the group?

Hey Hey Janine! I am not sure about the "level" aspect of the disability. Is there a measuring stick one can use? I have difficulty standing and more so walking. There is no question about the gradual decrease in almost everything. It has been going on for years. I would like to believe that taking half-a-pill of Levothyroxine in the morning helps with the fatigue. Brainfog? Many complain about this, but I do not think I got it. Just because I can't remember if I clicked the "send now" button doesn't necessarily mean I have  brainfog, does it?

And now about your dilemma. I would not worry about your teaching. Not if you are going to teach just one course. If the class meets two or more hours, give a bathroom (or cigarette) break. Get plenty of rest the night before. Teaching when tired can be troublesome. Use a stool, or lean against the desk when lecturing and limit your walking. Don't be afraid to walk around to get the attention of your audience. And as far as brainfog..., I wouldn't worry about it. Brainfog has been around academic settings for centuries; I doubt anyone would notice.
I am here if you want to "talk" some more. Good luck to you.
