Hello Neighbors!
The annual Westwood Park 4th of July Parade is this weekend! Here are the details again:
- Around 9:00am on the 4th, meet on Fairwood near West at Frey Ct.
- Start it off at the "Kick-Start Station" with coffee, donuts and tatoos -- this gets everyone awake and in the spirit :-)
- Kids are on bikes, scooters, and/or riding in wagons or strollers. Feel free to decorate their rides with stars, stripes, and all things patriotic! Every year, we're amazed at the level of festiveness.
- Around 9:15am, we will say the Pledge of Allegiance and start the walk/ride alongside the fire/rescue trucks and police vehicles to Shrevewood Elementary School. Neighbors along Fairwood sit out in their yards to cheer on the parade as it comes through the community.
- The walk can be hot depending on the weather, so don't forget your water, sunscreen, and a hat/sunglasses.
- Once at Shrevewood Elementary, the trucks will stay for a bit (as long as no service calls) so that we can chat with neighbors and fire/EMS workers and let everyone check out the vehicles! We will have watermelon and popsicles for everyone.
Hope you'll join us in your best red, white and blue! It's a great way to connect with one another and with our local fire department/EMS/police workers who give so much to our community.
