Hello everyone! I just found this group (apparently just in time) as I am planning on attempting the everyman sleep cycle starting tonight. I have 2 weeks off from work so I have little to worry about with the "zombie" phase, and I'm planning my sleep at:
330-630
12-1220
5-520
10-1020

Making my waking periods 5.5 hours, 5 hours, 5 hours, and 5.5 hours respectively.

Figured I would post here because all my friends and family think I am crazy, but most of my jobs I do I work and make my own hours so I can adjust accordingly.

Wish me luck and hopefully I don't come to bother you guys for advice too often!

Hi Dane,

I'd recommend you (and anyone else here) check out the polyphasic
society website, at polyphasicsociety.com. What they encourage for
everyman-type schedules is to have the first block in the evening. The
reason is that humans tend to go into deep sleep much more easily in the
early part of the night; and if you don't get your deep sleep, something
will be missing. (This schedule will deliver on REM, though.)

PS - Check out the "Zeo" sleep monitor device, if you want to measure
what's happening.

Hi Dane,

You bought a bunch of alarms already?

You must be 3 months in by now. How is it going?
