Good evening.

Please continue monitoring the Tropical Depression #9 that is currently churning out in the Gulf of Mexico.  Indications are that it make strengthen and will make a turn to the Northeast sometime later in the week with potential landfall in the big bend area of the state, although that is still not a certainty.

We have not received any requests from Emergency Management in regards to activation of ARES at this time.  Conference calls are being held with the State EOC, NWS and NHC to determine the tract, strength and any potential impacts for our area.

Should anything change, I or Emergency Management will send out updates.  In the meantime, check your equipment, batteries, frequencies, etc in case we are activated.

If all goes well we will just get a little rain and may have to fire up a Skywarn or two, but let's be ready in case the pot is stirred and we are needed.

If you need to get a hold of me, my email is w4...@outlook.com and cell is 863-521-1511

Above all - be safe!

Jim
