Poughkeepsie police shoot, kill man with knife

POUGHKEEPSIE – A man armed with a knife was shot and killed by a Poughkeepsie City Police officer Monday night.

Police were called to the area of 12 South Clinton Street at 9:09 p.m. for a report of a man “acting out.”

Responding officers were confronted by a man with a knife. A struggle ensued and an officer shot the man, who was transported to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.
