I produce my show from Canada, in Abbotsford, BC, about an hour east of
Vancouver. My show airs on KPSU in Portland, Oregon, which is about 6 hours
south of here. I'm from Portland originally, and had my show down there for
a year before I moved to the Great White North to finish school and marry my
girlfriend of three years. I wanted to keep doing my radio show, so I
started doing it on my computer in the fall of 2003. Eventually, I heard of
podcasting, and decided to broaden my audience by distributing my show as
one.

Hello Gang,
Here's another podcaster from Nashville, TN, CONCERT BLAST!.
We (Mike Arnold, Brian Hasbrook, and Tom Thompson) usually pick a
restaurant (with permission), setup a table and discuss our topic in
Nashville, TN. There are times when we interview people in the restaurant
and there are times when we interview special guests. We did Show 13
backstage at the Alice Cooper / Cheap Trick concert in Atlanta, GA
(Chastain Park) as we interviewed Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper's lead
guitarist). On Show 14, we did our concert review in the car as we drove
back from Atlanta. We always like some type of background noise...
preferably people talking. Next month we have another road trip scheduled
to Memphis, TN for another backstage interview. Yes, again we will review
the concert in the car on the way home.

Nice Chatter!

Thanks,
Mike Arnold

It's called the Post Modern Rock Show, at www.postmodernrock.com. It's a
music show with occasional interviews.

This week on Wednesday I'm putting out an interview I did with a girl from
here who was in New Orleans during Katrina, and spent five days in the
Superdome. It'll be similar to something you'd hear on This American Life
(www.thisamericanlife.org) when I'm finished editing it.

Cheers!

Mark,
Thanks for the compliment. Since you are a fan of Cheap Trick, you
should listen to the Ryan Roxie Interview as well (Show 13). Ryan talks
about how great it is to be on the road with Cheap Trick... The band he
listened to while doing his homework.

Now that summer is over I'm hoping to kickstart the Podcast Peer Awards. A
brief podcast, explaining the idea behind them, is not available at
http://podcastpeers.org/podcasts/ppa.xml

We're trying to create an Academy Awards style award, one where other
podcasters select the best, instead of it being an popularity contest. The
rules and polices are being set up now, so if you've got any ideas about the
best way to do an award, now is the time to get involved.

As a side benefit, PPA members receive free advertisements on the web site.

Stop by, sign up, and get involved. This could turn into one hell of a
party.
