What is the PS3 equivelant to HALO??

So HALO is the XBOX360 ultimate game (for most people). So what is
THE killer game for the PS3 system? The game that is so awesome that
every PS3 owner should own it.

Well, if you want the equivalent of Halo I think the game that is
closest is Resistance. The reason for this is because you kill
aliens. There are two different ones, and I suggest you get the
latest version. However, if you want the best shooter game on PS3 I
recommend Call of Duty. Both World at War and Call of Duty 4 Modern
Warfare are awesome. It's up to you which one you want. World at War
takes place during WWII, so the weapons are not as good. Modern
Warfare has the best weapons, but it is older and the graphics are
just a little inferior to World at War.

Will I bought my PS3 because Uncharted was just that damn awesome.
Though if you want a comparable game Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 are
much much better shooters than Halo 3 but Halo 3 rides on a microsoft
bought hype wave.

First off, I would like to say that Halo is not a very good game, it
was just really hyped up, but let's get to it.

If you are looking for a game /like/ Halo I suggest Resistance Fall of
Man (RFoM). I got the first game at the same time that I purchased my
PS3, and it was my only game for a long time. The campaign is
AMAZING, and the online multiplayer is as fun as Halo. The second one
is good too, but if you're looking for a good single player story you
should start with the first, or else you wont understand it at all.

Another game that has an amazing story is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
If you don't mind missing the multiplayer aspect of the game, and I
usually do, but this game is just soooo good that I don't mind, then
you should DEFINITELY get it. You can get this game really cheap, it
has trophies, and the story is the best of any game I've ever played.
The second game is coming out soon, and I can't wait for it!

If you are looking for a game as "good" as they say Halo is, then I
would have to tell you to go with Call of Duty 4 (CoD 4). The
multiplayer is the best out of ANY shooter, and the campaign is pretty
good too. It is currently the only game that I play. The controls
for CoD 4 are so smooth that I have found it impossible to play RFoM
since I started playing.

Another option is Call of Duty: World at War (CoD: WaW). Some people
say that this game is even better than CoD 4, but I'm not buying it
(in every sense of the phrase.) The guns in CoD 4 are cooler, just as
many people are playing online, and it's cheaper (because it's a year
older.) The only plus, that I would say, is that CoD: WaW has
trophies, but most of them a crappy, and almost all are for the
terrible single player campaign.

I feel Resistance 2 gives not only the best multi-player and maps but
the story is ten times better than Halo 3.

All of the games mentioned so far are great (I have not tried
Uncharted yet but will now) but Ninja Gaiden Sigma, though not an FPS,
and not next-gen (or now-gen) gives some of the best combat you can
find on a console, and lots of value after the single player
campaign...it is one of the best, very challenging but not in a cheap
way and therefore very satisfying. Try it, seriously.

best FPS is a tough choice between KZ2 and R2, I have to say I kind of
prefer the feel of the guns and the sense of movement in R2
