Garden Update: Thefts and Vandalism

Gardeners,

We've had reports of thefts and minor vandalism at Penfield, which means this is a good time to  remind all gardeners --

DON"T LEAVE RIPE VEG IN THE GARDEN!  

Ripe, over-ripe and nearly ripe produce attracts pests -- insect and human. Harvest regularly. The thief who is attracted to your tomatoes may also damage someone else's plot.

And if you see someone you don't recognize in the garden, especially if they are picking from multiple plots, consider talking with them. Ask them what their plot number is. Tell them that they are not allowed to pick from plots they don't rent. And if necessary, call the police.
