Garden Update: Work Day, Nettles and more

Gardeners,

Reminder: We have a Work Day on Saturday, July 19.

At Penfield: Gather at about 10 a.m. and look for Board Members to direct you. You'll work on bad aisles and clean the shed.

At PHA: We don't have an organized  work day, just help when you can. Sweep and neaten the shed and pull any weeds around the edges of your plots.

At Both: Can't make it? Help out when you can and police your aisles.

Nettles: We've had complaints of stinging nettles on the edges of plots. These nasty weeds will slash at ankles. Make it a priority to remove these.

Tall crops: Remember, no full-size corn or sunflowers. Other crops that get over 5 feet high should also be cut back.

This hot, damp weather has the garden and the weeds growing like crazy. Please visit your plot frequently.
