Garden Update: Compost at Penfield and more

Gardeners,

We now have a new shipment of compost at Penfield. I suggest you add some as you pull out old plants and transition to fall. 

PHA gardeners will have more bagged compost in the shed there soon.

I've notice a significant amount of overripe produce and, especially at Penfield, some plots that are overgrown with weeds. Please attend to your plots as the season winds down.

We'll soon have applications out for 2026. If any of you know you won't be returning, please let me know so we can plan for new gardeners.

Two more topics:

• A Life Alert necklace was found in the Penfield garden. If you lost it or hear of someone who has, you'll find it in the shed, in the seed box.
• Our final Work Day will be Oct. 25, at which time most gardeners should be wrapping up the season. The water is usually turned off about then also.
