Gardeners,
Thanks to everyone who attended our kickoff meeting yesterday.
Both our gardens are full and we have four people on our Penfield waiting list. Two additional Penfield gardeners are hoping for second plots.
A few updates, notes and reminders:
- New gardeners should attend our orientation at the Penfield Garden, 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18. If you can't come, please make and appointment with me or any other board member for a personal orientation.
- Saturday, April 18 is also a work day, starting at 10 a.m., but anyone who wants to begin an hour earlier shouldn't hesitate. Remember, we ask everyone to donate an hour or two, three times a year.
- PHA gardeners don't have an organized session and should instead regularly keep the shed swept and organized.
- Water should be turned on at both gardens this week. The hose systems won't be installed right away, which means you'll need to hand water for the first week or two.
- We have compost at both gardens. At PHA, please use up the bagged compost. I'll be getting more.
- At PHA I'm in the midst of replacing the rotted plot sides. I hope to complete the job this week. If your plot isn't upgraded yet, please delay work there a bit.
- At Penfield we need wood chips and are hoping to find a tree service to drop some soon.
Best,
Jack
