Gardeners,

Our season is coming to a close. Here are a few updates and reminders:

Compost at PHA -- I have delivered bagged compost to the PHA shed. Use it up and I'll get more. Many PHA plots are in need of organic material.

Work Day -- Our end of the season work day will be  Saturday, Oct. 25. Plots should be shut down for the winter by then or soon after. Remember, no structures, such as trellises or tall stakes, can be left up over the winter.

Water changes -- Soon I'll be taking down the hoses at both gardens, and not long after that the water will be shut off for the season. Winter is coming.

Send me your check -- Want to sign back up for next year? Make out your check to Plattsburgh Community Garden: $35 at Penfield and $25 at PHA. As usual, PHA residents have no fee. Include a note with your name, plot number, address, phone number and any other pertinant info. Bring it to the Work Day, or mail to --

Remember, you must send in a note or application before the spring kickoff meeting to keep your plot next year.

Other plot changes -- Want an extra plot? Want to change from one garden to another? Those requests aren't resolved till the spring, at or after out kickoff meeting. For those requests, you will have to fill out a 2026 Plot Application. Those applications will be available later in the fall.

Are you leaving us? If you know you aren't returning to the garden, please let me know.

See you at the garden,

Jack
