Gardeners,
Thanks to the small number of gardeners who attended our work day Saturday. We appreciate the help.
PROBLEM PLOTS -- This was a good year at both our gardens, but a few gardeners had trouble keeping up with planting, weeding and harvesting. And some of you have failed to clean up your overgrown plots. You may get email from me on behalf of the board asking you to commit to better maintenance of your plot if you choose to return.
AISLE PROBLEMS -- This season at Penfield, too many plots have plants that encroach on or are actually growing in, the aisles. The aisles aren't your garden. You must keep your plants out if the aisles. In the future will we be pushing or cutting back plants in the aisles.
PLOT WIDTH -- Also at Penfield, too many plots have expanded well beyond the 4 foot width. As you clean up your plot for the season, please try to correct this by adding to your aisles.
WINTER RULES -- At both gardens, now or soon, you should be cleaning up your plot, removing debris, adding compost and taking down all trellises and tall stakes. Boundary markers are fine. Complete this by November 15, leaving only the most hardy crops.
WATER -- Water will probably be turned off at both gardens this week.
2026 PLANNING -- If you wish to renew your plot for next season, send me check and note. The note should include your name, address, phone number, email address and plot number. Also include a check made out to Plattsburgh Community Garden. send it to --
