Gardeners,

Before you know it, the snow and cold will be gone and we will be working in the gardens. As we prepare for the 2024 season, a few notes:

Have you signed up for your plot?

So far, the Penfield plots that have been renewed are plots: 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 23, 27, 28, 31, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38, 40, 41, 45, 48, 51, 52, 57.  No plots have been renewed at the Plattsburgh Housing Authority garden, which we also manage.

Remember, the only way to be sure you get your plot back is to renew before our spring kickoff meeting. If your contact information is unchanged, you can renew by simply mailing me a check and a note.

Amounts are $35 per plot at Penfield and $25 at PHA. PHA gardeners who are residents there are not charged a fee. However, PHA resident gardeners still must request a renewal and let me know about changes to contact info. Email is fine for this.

For those paying, make the check out to Plattsburgh Community Garden Group and mail with a note to:

Can you help us find new members?

We always have turnover. New gardeners are needed. If you know someone who would like to join us, please have them visit our website for a plot application: https://www.plattsburghcommunitygarden.org/

Kickoff Meeting and fundraising

Our spring kickoff meeting will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, in the upstairs meeting room of the Plattsburgh Public Library. New gardeners should try to attend, and anyone doing a last-minute renewal must be there 10 to 10:15.

We are planning a street drive fundraiser again this year. Stay tuned for the date.
