Garden Update: Are you planting yet?

Gardeners,

Spring is definitely here and summer isn't that far away. Have you planted yet?

Our plot agreement states: "Clear plot and be ready to plant by May 15. Have a significant amount planted by Memorial Day ,and keep the plot planted with produce or cover crop all season long." 

So if you haven't done much to your plot yet, it's time to get going now. And remember to add compost as you do.

If you are late starting you may receive email from a garden board member asking about your progress. Please respond promptly and let them know your plans. And if you need help, please ask.

Other garden news:

• I've requested wood chips at Penfield and am hoping we get more in soon.
• At PHA we're having structure problems with some of the garden bed sides. I hope to do some repairs soon, but it may take a few days. Eventually the plot containers will have to be replaced.
• About the locks -- Please notice that, after opening, you don't try to change the code until after you re-lock. Changing the code while the lock is open will jam the lock.
