Gardeners,

We've had a report of significant damage/vandalism in a couple Penfield plots. Our sympathy goes out to the gardeners impacted. If anyone saw anything, please let us know. However, the damage appears to have taken place late Friday or early Saturday when witnesses were unlikely.

In other business: have you been to the garden lately? Many plots are overgrown, some with rotting and wasted produce. Please don't waste your veg. Bring extra to the food shelf, https://www.plattsburghfoodshelf.org/, or give away to friends. Overripe produce attracts pests.

Do not allow your plants to block the aisles. And plants over 5 or 6 feet tall, such as sunflowers, even if they were "volunteers" must be taken down.

We still have growing season left. Don't forget to water during the coming dry spell. We hope to get another shipment of compost this fall. Plan to add organic material as you wind down your plot. PHA gardeners should have bagged compost in the shed, which I will add to as needed.

See you at the garden,

Jack
