Gardeners,
Is your garden producing more than you need? Local food shelves/pantries need your fresh produce donations. Please consider harvesting for a good cause.
The Interfaith Food Shelf at the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, 127 Beekman St., accepts donations during their regular hours -- 9-12 Monday-Friday and 4 to 6 on Fridays.
Can't make it to the food shelf? Hank McCarty has offered to watch for bags of produce left near the shed. He visits the food shelf regularly and will take garden donations.
Reminders:
- Visit your plot frequently. Weeds and veg are growing like crazy.
- Don't leave over ripe produce in the garden. I will attract pests and vandalism.
- Don't waste veg. It makes your plot and our garden look bad.
- Clearing out some old plants? There is still plenty of time to re-plant and get another harvest.
- If a board member contacts you about problems in your plot, take it seriously and respond.
- re-lock the shed and water
- Don't leave tools in the garden.
See you at the garden,
Jack
