Dear Friends of PRC,

We would like to let you know of an exciting event coming up at the
Three Rivers Arts Festival! A group of Somali Bantu Teens will be
performing a play called "The Missing Pot - Part 2". Below you

The Missing Pot is a touching and poetic play that tells the tale of
the sacrifice and suffering thousands of Somali Bantu people have
endured. Tales from the refugee camps, the journey to America, and
life in Pittsburgh are related to the audience in the intimate setting
of 937 Liberty Ave's theater space. Performances are June 11, 3PM
and 7PM and are free to the public.

The Missing Pot is the culmination of the Somali Bantu Refugee Teen
Girl Project developed over the past two years by Pittsburgh Playback
Theatre in cooperation with the Pittsburgh Refugee Center.

Led by Pittsburgh Playback Theatre's founder, Roni Ostfield, the
project's goals are to help these young men and women find their
voices, tell their story, and gain personal strength through
participating in workshops and acting on stage.

The teens, who arrived in Pittsburgh between 2004-2005, participated in
storytelling, acting and writing workshops which ultimately led to a
scripted play written by Pittsburgh playwright Tammy Ryan. The 30
minute play is performed by the teens side by side with Pittsburgh
Playback Theatre's professional acting company. Performing Racheed
Clark, Elaine Fisher, Rich Keitel, Demetria Marsh, Paulo Nzambi and
Andrea Scheve.
