Dear Friends of PRC,

Refugees languishing year after year in dangerous, inhospitable,
desolate no man's land, near remote and often contested borders are no
one's favorite story. Warehoused refugees have fallen off the radar
screen of international attention and into the Orwellian memory hole.

Over 12 million refugees and displaced people are warehoused in 700
refugee camps around the globe. This World Refugee Day, June 20,
2007, marks 56 years since the establishment of UNHCR, the UN refugee
agency. In honor of lives unlived, we give you the location of 56
refugee camps and the faceless numbers we should never forget.
