Dear friends of PRC,

John Solecki, Head of UNHCR sub-office in Quetta Pakistan, was
kidnapped by terrorists on February 2nd on his way to work.

I met John during my trip to Pakistan in November of 2007. He is an
extremely dedicated official to improving the lives of the refugee
population. The news of his kidnapping has not only saddened me but
it is appalling to me that this man who had done so much to help the
Afghani refugees would be a target. We ask you to keep John, his
family, and all the UNHCR staff who face challenges and danger on a
daily basis, in your thoughts and prayers. John is a dear colleague
and we wish for his safe return to his family and to the cause he
dedicated his life to: helping refugees.

Sincerely,

Khadra Mohammed
