Hi Group,

Can anyone tell me the best way to seam the first layer of standard double cover on the wing LE. Does it need  a 2" overlap ?
If so then does the second layer get glued in exactly the same spot ?

Just thinking about the prettiest way to do it.

Thanks

Are you covering just the inboard part of the wing with a layer of heavy fabric and then will cover the entire wing again with a second heavy layer?  If yes, you can butt join the first layer at leading edge centerline since the second layer will have 2” overlap and be the primary covering.  The half span first layer is like a path on the inside to make more durable in the prop wash.

If you are using the kimball double cover with one heavy and one light layer, you need  do the 2” overlap on leading edge.
