Fabric over aileron rivets

Hi Group, I have just covered a couple of ailerons and am now wondering if I should have glued the fabric around the rivets on the leading edge and tops. What have you guys done?

We just cover them with no special treatment letting the fabric slope away naturally. This is the case on all alum ailerons. Model 12, S2, strearman.
