Robert Marion Fuller
(December 6, 1923 ~ December 12, 2010)
Robert Marion FULLER Robert Marion Fuller, 87, of Lacey, retired
Captain for Northwest Airlines, passed away December 12, 2010 in
Lacey. Robert was born to James and Myrtle (Addis) Fuller on December
6, 1923 in Stanaford, West Virginia. He was raised in Snowflake,
Virginia by his aunt and uncle, Myrtle and Earl McConnell, because of
his mother passing at an early age. He rejoined his father in Delavan,
Wisconsin, where he attended high school and met Ruth Mary Rice, his
sweetheart and future wife of 66 years. He married Ruth Mary on
November 3, 1944 in Perrin Field, Texas. Robert was a loving and
devoted husband and father. He and Ruth Mary had two children, James
and Richard. Robert joined the Army Air Corps one day after graduating
from high school, and took his first solo flight in May of 1943. At
the completion of his military service, Robert went to work for
Northwest Airlines, retiring in 1983. Robert instilled a love of
aviation and country into his family. His sons both flew in the
military, Jim in the Marine Corps and Rick in the Air Force. His
grandson, Jason, currently flies in the Air Force. He loved to travel,
and did so before and after retirement. Robert loved sail planes. He
also loved to water ski and windsurf, traveling all over the world to
do that while Ruth Mary sunbathed. Robert was a member of the Highline
Flying Club. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mary, by
13 days. He is survived by his sons, James and Richard; grandchildren,
Jason, Kimberly, Caroline, and Jennifer; seven great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandson. A Memorial Service will be held on
Monday, December 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Panorama
Assisted Living Center. Memorials in Robert's name may be made to

Ruth Mary Rice Fuller
(November 9, 1925 - November 29, 2010)
Ruth Mary Fuller, 85, of Lacey, passed away November 29, 2010 in
Olympia. Ruth Mary was born to Earl and Arlyne Rice on November 9,
1925 in Delavan Wisconsin. She met her high school sweetheart, and
future husband, Robert Fuller, when she was a freshman. She graduated
from Delavan High School in 1943, and married Robert on November 3,
1944 in Perrin Field, Texas. Ruth Mary and Robert had two children,
James and Richard. Ruth Mary loved sunbathing, traveling, shopping for
Christmas, a good martini, and Harold the Teddy Bear. Harold came into
Ruth Mary’s life when a granddaughter sent him to be with her one
summer. Harold has been a part of the family ever since. Ruth Mary was
preceded in death by her mother and father, Earl and Arlyne, and
sister, Catharine. Ruth Mary is survived by her husband of 66 years,
Robert; two sons, James and Richard; grandchildren, Jason, Kimberly,
Caroline, and Jennifer; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-
grandson; and Harold the Teddy Bear. A Memorial Service will be held
on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the chapel at Panorama Assisted
Living Center. Memorials in Ruth Mary’s name may be made to Ronald
McDonald House.
