Air Force veteran David Eugene Grounds joined Delta Air Lines 10-16-1978 and was Dallas based.  David is survived by his wife Robbie, and by his sons and their families.  For those who may wish to send a personal note, the Grounds residence is listed in whitepages as

David Grounds, age of 77, passed away on June 25,2026 in his home in Argyle Tx.

 

Visitation will be Sunday, June 28,2026 from 12-2 pm at Hamil Family Funeral then at 2:30 pm graveside services at Buffalo Gap Cemetery with Clayton Boling officiating.

Services are under the direction of the Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

 

David was born in San Angelo, Texas to Ira Grounds and Thelma Burton on July 28, 1948. He went to high school in San Antonio. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in animal husbandry.

 

He married Robbie Paulk on May 22, 1982 in Abilene, TX.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Air Force and was awarded the Air Medal. He worked as a pilot for Delta Air Lines for 26 years.

David is preceded in death by his father Ira Grounds and mother Thelma Burton.

 

David is survived by loving wife Robbie Grounds, son Casey Grounds with partner Josh Whitney and son Matthew Grounds with wife Halee Grounds and grandson Lane Grounds. brother Dennis Grounds with wife Phyllis Grounds. Sister Joy Larmey with husband Al Larmey.

 

Pallbearers will be Casey Grounds, Matthew Grounds, Lane Grounds, Josh Whitney, Sonny DeVane and Glen Bays.

 

Memorials may be given to St Jude Hospital.
