Subject: DELTA MASTER SENIORITY LIST

DELTA MASTER SENIORITY LIST

Hello Delta pilots and pilot families,

For the past year or so several of us have started the process to create a DELTA MASTER SENIORITY LIST, a complete historical listing of every pilot who ever flew for Delta Air Lines,  Inc.  To do this, it was felt that creating it on a web site would be the most useful and secure place to work on it.

The web master is retired Captain Dave Davis with retired Captains Julian Black and myself working with him, and retired Captain David Ewing, Delta Golden Wings web master, advising us.

To date there are nearly 18,000 pilots listed with varying amounts of information.  Finding that information is incredibly time consuming and this has become a very slow process.  We need your help to input your own information and to be as complete and precise as possible.

As you know most Delta Seniority Lists showed only the pilot's Last Name and Initials with his or her date of hire, and seniority date if different.  A lot of  our needed database information is missing from those lists.

Each pilot on the MASTER LIST will be identified by his or her Full Name and their own seven-digit Delta Employee Number, a unique identifier for the data base.  (If your employee number has less than seven digits, add zeroes in front of your number to get to seven digits.)  The Master List is on the web site www.dlpilots.com .  You can open it and read the instructions and background there, then follow the menu to fill out your own profile. The Suffix block has caused some confusion.  That means Generational Suffix, i.e., Sr., Jr., II, III, IV, etc.  All dates should be in the format, mm/dd/yyyy.  If you're having difficulty with the log on, more specific instructions are below.

I have every seniority list Delta published between July 1, 1968 and July 1, 2000, but we need many more.  Many Delta pilots are "pack-rats" and what we need from each of you are copies of any lists of DELTA pilots that show Employee Numbers especially.  Please send a copy of any lists you have to one of us:  me, Julian Black or Dave Davis preferably as an email attachment.  Here are our addresses for the TO: line and my mailing address is below.

David L. Roberts <robe...@mindspring.com>. Julian Black <jub...@mindspring.com>, Dave Davis <da...@davedavis.org>,

Please send those ASAP and it will greatly help our effort.  Please forward this letter to YOUR list of Delta pilot email addresses to insure more pilots know about this effort and can help us add information.

Thanks for your help with this,

Dave

1.  Go to www.dlpilots.com and click on LogIn.

2.  Enter your seven-digit employee number in the Employee Number box.  If your number was 8439, you would enter 0008439.
3.  In the Password box, enter your eight-digit date of hire - without the forward slashes.  For example, October 24, 1969 would be 10241969.  Then click LOGIN.
4.  Now you have a blank page that should say WELCOME with your name to the right of the LOGIN button.
5.  Click on UPDATE and your profile page should appear.  This is a good time to insure everything posted is correct and if not, correct it.  This is where you can change your password if you wish and when everything is filled out the way you want it, click on the UPDATE button at the bottom of the page.  When the word UPDATE turns GREEN your profile has been updated.
6.  On the upper line, click on VIEW and the blank DISPLAY page appears.    In the red banner line there is a Begin Value block and an End Value block and a menu block with a down arrow.  It usually has LAST NAME showing until you click the down arrow and then other items can be selected.
7.  As a first use, I suggest putting your date of hire in the Begin block and then click the down arrow until DATE OF HIRE appears.  Click the DISPLAY HIRE DATES button and everyone hired on that date should appear in alphabetical order.  You should be able to see your entire class listed.
If this doesn't work let me know.  If it does work look through the list and let me know if any of your new hire classmates are NOT listed.   Then have fun with the LIST any way you'd like.  You can search names, dates of hire, retirement dates or flew west dates.  ENJOY...!!
