Hey guys,

So here's an issue I ran into today when I tried to reserve our date for Levels for Pillar Prom. In order to put a hold on our date, we need to put down the deposit. I didn't know that we had to do this prior to our total payment 3 days prior to the date of the formal. Thus, we have to pay $2,500 to reserve Levels for that day. If we don't pay it soon, the day can be given to a different group that can pay before us. The issue is, I wasn't going to start collecting money until after THON for the formal but we would want to reserve the date before that. So now we have to figure out how to come up with that money. It's too much for one person to just write a check for. It's also too much to just take from slush. So do we start asking people to pay now? (Issue with that is that alt fund as money they're still collecting, as well as merch. People may not want to just keep paying more and more money.) Do we split the cost among us as an eboard? I'm open to ideas but we really want to book this date before someone else takes it. SO let me know if you have ANY ideas on how to go about this. This is apart of the total for the number of people we have so once we pay this, we only have the balance left based on the number of people we have. (i.e. it won't be an additional $4,000 for 150 people because we've already paid $2,500).

Why dont we take from slush for the deposit and then refund slush with teh collected money?

I think Sami's idea would work best considering the circumstances but I also don't think it's a bad idea to start collecting money for those people who would really like to go. We can collect up until formal!

I don't know if there will even be enough money in slush right now with the money we are using for THON weekend. Maybe if we took all the money we had reserved for future socials (I think that would be close to $2000, but Erin has the breakdown) we could do it. We would just have to hold off on socials until we refund slush once people buy tickets (early March) Erin would probably know best as to how much money!

Also, with what Matt said - if we tell them there are limited spots (15) and collect the few meetings from now until THON I'm sure people would buy their tickets now. And if not enough people do, we can use slush possibly to cover half of it or so. We just need to make sure we have enough. Kelsey - once you pay for THON weekend merch you will have all of your leftover money too, right?

We have the money.  We just can't do any socials until we start to collect it back.  I also feel like starting to ask people to pay is fine.

Hey guys. I only have one more thing to pay for (hats) and thats 900 dollars. I can see how much I have left over and give it to slush and it can be put towards the formal. Let me count it really quick.
