Evening all,

I have a new question about what was originally used to push the gear doors open and then pull them closed.  On my ship there's a bungee cord going through a piece of water hose to each gear door.  It seems rather crude to me but it works, of course there's one on each door.  I had to change out the bungees which wasn't easy and even though I tried to make sure they were tight I sometimes here the gear doors bang a little.  I've attached a couple of photos of what mine looks like.

Thanks,
Keith

Hi Keith.
Yours looks just like mine, although my hose is a slightly bigger dia.
My suggestion is to shorten the hose a little, maybe an inch or so.
I've also terminated my bungee at the doors with a simple knot which can be pulled out and re-tied to adjust the tension (mine has a fair bit of tension).
This way I've avoided wire ties etc, and after 15 yrs they have never come loose.
I hope this helps.

Cheers.
Bernie.
