How do you save SOAP GeneratePackage() results?

I got the SOAP GenerateObject() to work when I save the results to a file on the server.  See my other post on that one - on this same date.

However, I cannot figure out how to get the GeneratePackage results into a usable format - as in separate files that are properly formatted, etc. 

I can see that there are a bunch of files all base64_encoded, all assembled together.  I ran the whole results through an online base64_decoder and could see the different files.
