Concert
Earth Hour 2011
On Saturday 26 March from 8:30 to 9:30pm, people around the world will
participate in Earth Hour by switching off the lights to raise awareness of the
link between energy consumption and climate change.

ANU staff and students are invited to mark the occasion by enjoying a free
barbecue dinner from 6:30pm along with world music, dancing, drumming
performances and a fire show on the Chifley Library front lawn.

Bring the family and a picnic blanket for a relaxed evening festival!

Musical performances include:
Earthly Delights (Folk-World-Medieval)
Traditional Aboriginal Performance (Warren Saunders)
King Parrot Samba (Brazilian Percussion)
DrumAssault (West African Drumming) and Fire Show

From 8.20pm ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Young will lead the count down to
Earth Hour.

The Japan Club will be selling tasty traditional fare and the ANU Black Hole
Society will be offering glimpses of the night sky from dusk.

You can do your part for Earth Hour by remembering to shut down your computers
and by switching off all non-essential lighting before you leave the office on
Friday 25 March (and every day!)

ANU Earth Hour is supported by ANUgreen and the Climate Change Institute.
