It's been a long time since we last wrote (again!), so we thought we
send you a quick update on what's happened lately.
We are back in NZ, of course and immensely enjoyed our visits to all our
family and friends, old and new. We want to thank all those who have
extended their hospitality to us. The month in Germany went by far too
quickly, just as I feared and we were only able to see some of my old
friends. We hope to see more of you on future visits. The 10 days in
Thailand flew past in a blur.
Su just received her passport back with a residence visa in it, so she
can now live here permanently. She says again a big thank you to all
those who wrote letters of support for her. She has also seen the
oncologist again who was pleased with her recovery and we are sure that
we have seen the last of the cancer.
After a couple of missed opportunities we are now in negotiations with
somebody selling his lawn mowing business, so hopefully we will soon
have an income. We can then go ahead and rent a house and will be able
to welcome visitors.
On a technical note, I'm honoured to have been made mapper by the NZ
Open GPS project (http://www.nzopengps.org/), responsible for Auckland
and Northland. We make maps for Garmin GPS units that are more accurate
than Garmin's own maps.
Kind regards,
Peter & Su.
