Messiah died and was resurrected in fulfillment of the first Annual
Holyday named "Passover". In fact, the world's calendar even
changed, now counting years in AD - Anno Domini "Year of the Lord"!
However, virtually no one expects something AS BIG or BIGGER to happen
to fulfill the second Annual Holyday named "Last Day of Unleavened
Bread".
Tragically, the world completely overlooks the fulfillment of the
second and third Annual Holydays, and instead focuses entirely upon the
fulfillment of the fourth Annual Holyday named "Feast of Trumpets",
picturing the return of the Messiah.

Quick Summary: The 2nd Holyday has not occurred yet in history.
I believe that the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a type of a period of
time. It begins and ends with Holydays. The last day, the 2nd Holyday,
marks the END of that period of time.
I believe that period of time (7 days) corresponds to the 7 churches,
the 7 church eras, outlined in Rev 2 & 3. Rev 4, with its focus on
worshipping the Creator is the reaction in heaven to them witnessing
the miraculous desert creation on the earth that occurs as the
FULFILLMENT of the 2nd Holyday.
If we are in the Laodicean Era, the 7th church, then its end is very
near, and will be marked by the BIG event of the 2nd Holyday.
Then, IF the 7x7 applies since this a "prophetic" period, the day after
is the 50th day -- Pentecost -- the 3rd Holyday.
HWA never explained this... And he never explained Rev 4 & 5, except to
label it "A Prelude" in his little white booklet entitled "The Key to
the Book of Revelation". No one has been here before... asking this
question about the fulfillment of the 2nd Holyday in history.
This issue is important to me because it is tremendously GOOD NEWS.
That is why I am "serious" about this. The hope of the 2nd Holyday will
help many who have been abused by the elitist ministers in today's
churches who deal in fear and paranoia about the "End" in order to
control them. I also had to come out of that fear control drama
"group-think" in order to really think for myself and begin to ask
questions again. We all need to stop playing the "victim of abuse"
game.... we need to "get over it" and start thinking for ourselves
again. We all got used to "checking out brains at the door" when we
went to church services. Now it's time to wake up and restart our
brains! We will see if the Biblical "authorities" can answer the 10
questions at: Holydays 2 and 3 Overlooked?

I agree... if we had discussion forums such as these back then, we
would have been able to share insights from our own personal Bible
study and relationship with Our Father, and perhaps have prevented the
"brainwashing" by the "elites".
I believe all of the abuse we have suffered from what some call
"Armstrongism" stems from his ignoring/missing the FULFILLMENT of the
2nd Holyday, and OUR fault for not asking the right questions.
IF the death of the Messiah fulfilled the 1st Holyday, and IF the
Pentecost of Acts 2 fulfilled the 3rd Holyday, then what happened to
the FULFILLMENT of the 2nd Holyday? What BIG EVENT happened between the
death and resurrection of the Messiah AND the Pentecost of Acts 2?
Herbert Armstrong NEVER addressed this issue. That is the crux of the
problem! That was his fatal mistake. This mistake caused everyone to
focus on the gloom and doom of the 4th Holyday... the "End of the
World" and the Tribulation, enabling us to be manipulated by FEAR and
paranoia to be subservient and "unquestioning" so that we could go to
the "place of safety". What a tragedy...
I bought into this too... this FEAR mentality. But I decided to stop
playing the "victim of abuse" game, and by taking responsibility for My
mistake in allowing Myself to be manipulated, I was then FREE and able
to do something about it, and end that "control drama". Once I owned my
part in allowing it, then I could FIX it, and get past it.
I left WCG in 1995. I am not a member of ANY group... I had to avoid
the FEAR mentality for a while in order to look objectively at the
Bible.... AND the HOLYDAYS. Some are still not able to do that yet... I
understand... it is still too painful to even discuss the Holydays
(now, sadly, called "Armstrongism"). I do not fault them for that... I
have been there. But I was determined NOT to let that anger and FEAR
control me anymore. Many will not get over their anger UNTIL this BIG
event of the 2nd Holyday occurs. At least that is my hope... And it
will take something BIG to get them and the world out of the "Matrix".
Satan would love to have us associate the Holydays with HWA, to
discount them entirely... But HWA did not write Leviticus 23, or
Zechariah 14 showing that the Feast of Tabernacles will be enforced by
the King of Kings when He Returns, since people in the world at that
time will be FULFILLING THAT HOLYDAY. The Holydays are not obsolete --
and they a bigger than HWA.
Anyways, to answer your questions...

That is the perfect question! That is the question that reveals the
FALSE ASSUMPTION Armstrong made about the Pentecost of Acts 2 -- the
assumption that it was a FULFILLMENT, and NOT a TYPE.
I believe that the Pentecost of Acts 2 was only a TYPE -- not a
FULFILLMENT... precisely because there was no BIG EVENT that happened
between the Messiah's death/ resurrection AND the Pentecost of Acts 2.
The FIRST HARVEST (Pentecost, 3rd Holyday) is still yet to come...
AFTER the 2nd Holyday occurs. This is exactly the issue I am trying to
point out, and you are the first person in this discussion group to see
"the question" that no one has ever asked during and since Armstrong's
"reign".
I believe in the "church eras". Some, perhaps many, do not. I believe
the Creator put them in REVELATION to show that they were "prophetic"
in application (not just for apostolic times), and that there is a
chronological and linear timeline to the placement chapters in
Revelation. I do not think a "day for a year" applies to these "eras".
I believe the Creator was measuring the time BY these periods during
which He was calling and training "samples" of those times who could
relate to the people of those times when they were resurrected in the
2nd resurection. That is why the periods are not static and equal... He
wanted to be able to shorten/lengthen each period according to the
times that the "chosen samples" were living in. In some eras, it may
perhaps take longer to call enough people in, or the times did not
change enough for HIm to begin a new era... who knows... I am just
speculating here.
And HWA never explained Rev 4 & 5. Why? His only comment that I have
found is that they were a "Prelude".
I prefer to believe it was hidden from him... and that he was not
purposely suppressing the truth. At least I hope not. If he had
correctly understood that Rev 4 corresponded to the 2nd Holyday, and
that Rev 5 corresponded to Rev 5, it would have made a world of
difference. He would NOT have used the "FEAR" card to gather a
following to escape the Tribulation. We would have known that the First
Harvest was the Firstfruit "kingdom" that we should have been praying
about and expecting. And there was no FEAR or WAR related to the
FULFILLMENT of that event!
But why was he not shown this information? We could also ask why the
Creator did not show the apostles that the End Time was a long way off.
It probably is because we as frail mankind primarily only respond to
fear, sorry to say.
Personally, I may not have gotten involved with the WCG if it did not
have the imminent "end-time" appeal. But if the Creator is truly in
charge (NOT HWA), how am I going to blame the Creator? I wouldn't want
to pull a "JOB" on the Creator, would you?
Perhaps this is all just SPECULATION on my part, but I have an
intuition that this is the real meaning of the 2nd Holyday, that it
ENDS the Church Eras, and then comes the FIRST HARVEST, as a TYPE of
the FALL HARVEST that occurs after the Messiah returns. I believe the
"Kingdom of Priests" referred to in Rev 5.9-10 is this First Harvest.
I am just trying to point out the importance of the very question you
raised, and give you the only explanation that makes sense to me, and
gives everyone a real hope of very good news to appear very soon,
despite the intense disinformation program by Satan about the Holydays.
