New Month of Squash coming up and a possible new way to communicate

Hope you are well!

We are about to complete our first full month of squash in the almost post-pandemic world.  A lot of nice matches took place in July with some memorable points and the rust is slowly receding.

With all three locations offering monthly memberships, we can move around each month based on where it seems to make the most sense.

As of right now Drexel is the clear winner in terms of cost to play.  The monthly membership is the cheapest, it offers unlimited play and the membership includes two floors of gym and a swimming pool.  While Drexel is in summer session the courts have been very easy to get onto.

The US Squash Center is Very Nice.  But for unlimited play the cost is double and the reasonable membership limits you to 8 times a month to play 45 minutes.  If you play more than 45 minutes you will use up 2 of the 8 opportunities.  For most of us, that means at the end of 2 weeks, or less, we will not be able to play again until the next month.  

On another note, Eugen has suggested we try using Slack to coordinate more directly with players.  Here is the signup https://join.slack.com/t/phillysquash/signup.  I plan on trying Slack and continuing to use email until it becomes superfluous.  Thoughts on Slack from anyone who has used it?

Slack won’t necessarily make mailing lists obsolete but it allows for more targeted communication and coordination when it comes to planning meetups.
