Hello Everyone!

I hope you've all had fantastic summers. Penn Irish Club is incredibly excited to get for this coming year. Over the next week, you'll be getting another email with more details about some of the incredible events we have planned. However, I wanted to take a moment and just welcome you all back and update you all on a few things.

Activities Fair

Come support Penn Irish Culture Club at the Activities Fair! The fair will run from 5:00-8:00 tomorrow, August 28th.

Also, we need some members to help run the table. So if you are available during this time, please fill out this form. The shifts are only an hour long, and it would be ideal if we could have two to four people per shift.

Welcome Back Céilí

Those of you who attended our céilí last semester will remember how much fun it was. The event was an incredible success and we decided to host another one this semester. So mark your calendars for September 5th because at 8:00pm in Houston Hall's Hall of Flags we are going to have a grand time! There will be food, dancing performances, and social dancing lessons! More details are coming soon, but we hope you are already intrigued and will see us there!

Gaelic Football

Over the summer, an exciting opportunity presented itself for the club. Gaelic football clubs are sprouting up all around us and we were contacted to see if we would like to join in. It is co-ed and a wonderful sport. If you would like to learn more, we will be sending out details soon. At our first GBM, we will poll interest and provide more information on when a practice would occur.

Which brings me to the schedule for meetings this year. Our first meeting will be September 8th 6pm, location TBD. The general club will host meetings every other week. 

Meanwhile, for those interested in dance lessons, make sure you are on the listserv. Those meetings will be on Tuesdays beginning on September 2nd in Arch dance studio (304) from 7-8pm for beginners and 8-9pm for advanced.
