Blessings and all good, fellow penitents, friends, inquirers, affiliates, and associates of the Confraternity of Penitents,
First, a few words about our wonderful, blessed CFP retreat last weekend. Many graces came from this joyful time of togetherness. Fr. Anthony Baetzold spoke about the Eucharist (6 talks) and they are available on CD or DVD for any generous donation of your choice. If you want to order them now, before we get the web pages up in the Gift Shop with these, please use the "Multiple Items" button on any gift shop page and write in that you are ordering the DVD or CD of Retreat 2009. We will get it out to you right away. Again, the donation you make for these is up to you. Please remember to add in a bit more for postage. Thanks so much.
Secondly, because of the five days spent on retreat and travel, and because Madeline and Jim Nugent, who answer the emails and do other CFP work, have been deeply involved in prolife work with a booth at a 2 day fair the weekend after the retreat, to raise money for their local prolife pregnancy center, and with helping a young woman move out of an abusive situation into her own apartment (the Nugent's will be moving more of her stuff tomorrow), the CFP emails have not been tended to promptly. Thank you for your patience with this. And please hold this young woman in your prayers as well as all those coming to the pregnancy center.
We received this urgent prayer request from Gretchen Everin. Please hold Matthew in your prayers.
I regularly read a blog - godscanvas.wordpress.com - and the writer,
Emily, is in urgent need of prayer. She is currently at 30 weeks, 6
days of her ninth pregnancy (the last three have ended in 2nd trimester
loss) with baby Matthew Karol (Karol in honor of Pope John Paul II).
This dear baby's health is in great crisis, as he has a severely
enlarged heart, fluid in the abdomen, and hydrops. According to
doctors, his "only chance of survival" is to remain in utero at least
until week 34 so he can use a special machine to help his heart after
birth.
Right now, Emily is tearful but trusting and taking steroid injections
to help Matthew's lungs develop. She's at a special hospital, far from
home and her five children, where neo-natal cardiologists will be able
to tend to Matthew once he arrives.
Please storm Heaven with your prayers for this baby and family!
Thank you!
