From the Telegraph of 8 Jan 2026: HODGES Mary died peacefully at home on the 23rd December. Beloved wife of Roy. Devoted mother to Jeremy and Jack and grandmother to Frederica, Edmund, Charlie and Jonty. Private family funeral. Thanksgiving service to be announced in due course.

She was d of Maj Peter PRYOR 1907-80 scion of that gentry family of Weston and Anna Margaret 1906-2000 d of George Digby PEPYS CBE 1868-1957 (gs 1 Earl of COTTENHAM 1781-1851, relative of the diarist Samuel Pepys 1632-1703). She m 1969 Roy s of Francis H HODGES of Shenfield, Essex, and had two sons:

The late Mrs Hodges' second son's wife, née Camilla Jane SCOTT (born c.1971), is the daughter of (Charles) Martin Fielding SCOTT (born 27 III 1945), a great-grandson of Sir Walter SCOTT, 1st Bt, of Beauclerc (17 VIII 1826 - 8 IV 1910).
