New life peer: Lord Wolfson of Tredegar

The House of Lords website reports that Lord Wolfson of Tredegar is to be introduced on 7 January. Date of creation 30 December.

"David Wolfson QC was appointed as a minister in the Ministry of Justice on 22 December 2020" (https://www.gov.uk/government/people/david-wolfson-qc).

He was born in Liverpool on 19 July 1968, son of Bernard and Rosalind Wolfson (Who's Who).

Details now gazetted: "THE QUEEN has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 30 December 2020 to confer the dignity of a Barony of the United Kingdom for life upon David Wolfson, Q.C., by the name, style and title of BARON WOLFSON OF TREDEGAR, of Tredegar in the County of Gwent. "

Is he related to the Wolfson Baronets and Wolfson life peers?

Lord Wolfson of Tredegar would not appear to be related to the Wolfson baronets and the other Wolfson life peers.

The common ancestor of the baronets and the life peers, other than Lord Wolfson of Tredegar, was Solomon Wolfson , JP (1868–1941), who emigrated from Polish-Russia to Glasgow in the late 19th century.

Lord Wolfson of Tredegar's great-grandfather, Aaron Wolfson (1874 - 1946), emigrated to Tredegar from the Ukraine; he was naturalised in the UK on 14 September 1911. Aaron Wolfson's original surname was Zamchover, and his father's name was Ze'ev Zamchover: Ze'ev means wolf in Hebrew, hence the new surname which Aaron adopted.

As per site mention, the new peer was born in 1960, any dates ?

The sources I can find give his year of birth as 1968, but I have been unable to track down the exact date. His birth was, however, registered in Liverpool South in Q3 1968. He is the son of Bernard WOLFSON and his wife (marriage registered Q2 1964 - Liverpool South), Rosalind L LIBMAN.
