Lord Sanderson of Bowden has died aged 93 years.He retired from the House of Lords in 2018.He lead a review of the Conservative party in Scotland after the 2010 election in which they won only one seat( in Scotland)

From the Telegraph of 9 July 2026: SANDERSON Charles Russell. The Rt Hon Lord Sanderson of Bowden, passed away peacefully at home on 1st July 2026, aged 93. Dearly loved husband of Liz, much loved father of David, the late Claire, Georgie and the late Andy, adored grandfather and great grandfather. A private burial will be followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at Bowden Kirk on Tuesday 21st July at 2.30 p.m. to which all friends are respectfully invited. Details of recording and instructions.
